Investors will be monitoring a series of corporate earnings reports and key economic data this week, with results from technology company Nvidia and retailer Home Depot among the most anticipated releases. The week’s events are expected to provide market participants with fresh information on the state of artificial intelligence development, consumer spending trends, and wholesale inflation.
Several major companies across the technology, retail, and software sectors are scheduled to release their quarterly financial results.
Technology and Software Sector Reports
Nvidia is scheduled to announce its fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter earnings on Wednesday. According to data from LSEG, the consensus among Wall Street analysts is for the company to report quarterly revenues of $65.87 billion, an approximate 67.5% increase year-over-year, and earnings per share (EPS) of $1.53, a 72% increase from the same period last year. Analyst expectations for the company’s first-quarter guidance include revenue of $71.7 billion and a gross margin of 75%, per LSEG data.
Salesforce, an enterprise software company, is also set to report its quarterly earnings on Wednesday. LSEG data shows a consensus forecast of $3.04 in EPS on revenue of $11.16 billion.
Qnity Electronics will release its first earnings report as a standalone company on Thursday, following its separation from DuPont. The LSEG consensus expectation for Qnity is earnings of 58 cents per share on revenue of $1.16 billion.
Retail Sector in Focus
The retail sector will be represented by reports from Home Depot and TJX Companies. Home Depot is scheduled to report on Tuesday morning. Analysts surveyed by LSEG expect the home improvement retailer to post earnings of $2.54 per share on revenue of $38.12 billion.
On Wednesday morning, TJX Companies, the parent of retail chains T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, will release results for its holiday quarter. The LSEG consensus calls for earnings of $1.39 per share on revenue of $17.36 billion. Wall Street consensus also projects same-store sales growth of 3.83% for the company.
Key Economic Data Release
On the economic calendar, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is scheduled to release the Producer Price Index (PPI) for January on Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET. The PPI measures the average change in selling prices received by domestic producers for their output.
According to economists surveyed by FactSet, the forecast is for the January PPI to show a 0.3% increase month-over-month. The consensus for “core” PPI, which excludes volatile food and energy categories, is for a 0.25% monthly increase and a 2% rise year-over-year.
