Musician Nox Guni has postponed the release of his upcoming album, originally scheduled for early next year, after his digital accounts were compromised, his publicist announced. In a formal statement, publicist Takemore Mazuruse confirmed that the artist’s Google account, which manages his official music streaming platforms, had been subjected to unauthorized access.
The security breach directly affects the planned distribution and release of the new album. According to the statement issued by Mazuruse, control over the Google account is essential for managing Guni’s presence on key digital service providers where his music is streamed and sold. These platforms are the primary channels for modern music releases, catalog management, and artist-fan engagement.
“We regret to announce a delay in the release of Nox Guni’s much-anticipated album,” Mazuruse’s statement read. “This is a result of a security breach on his Google account, which is linked to his music distribution channels. Efforts are currently underway to resolve the issue with the relevant authorities and service providers.”
The statement clarified that the artist’s team is focused on regaining control of the accounts and ensuring their digital assets are secure before proceeding with a new album release schedule. No new date has been announced.
Nox Guni is a prominent figure in Zimbabwe’s Urban Grooves music genre and has an established following both locally and internationally. The postponement impacts his promotional timeline and release strategy for the new collection of work. The team has not provided specific details on how the breach occurred or the extent of the unauthorized access, citing the ongoing recovery process.
Updates regarding a new album release date will be provided to the public once the security issues are fully resolved and the accounts are secured, the statement concluded.
