Canada Goose Shares Jump 20% After Q4 Earnings Beat, Company Withdraws Full-Year Outlook

BusinessCanada Goose Shares Jump 20% After Q4 Earnings Beat, Company Withdraws Full-Year Outlook

TORONTO (AP) – Canada Goose shares surged more than 20% on Wednesday after the luxury outerwear maker reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings. Despite the strong results, the company withdrew its full-year 2026 outlook, citing global economic volatility and unpredictable consumer spending patterns.

The brand pointed to “dynamic consumer spending patterns brought on by the unpredictable global trade environment” as the primary reason for suspending its forecast, while emphasizing its confidence in financial resilience, brand equity and adaptability.

For the fiscal quarter ending March 30, Canada Goose reported adjusted earnings of 33 Canadian cents per share, beating analysts’ expectations of 23 cents, according to LSEG data. Revenue came in at CA$384.6 million, surpassing projections of CA$356.4 million and reflecting a 7.4% increase compared to the same quarter last year.

Net income attributable to shareholders reached CA$27.1 million, or 28 Canadian cents per diluted share—up sharply from CA$5 million, or 5 cents per share, a year earlier. Adjusted figures excluded costs related to office transitions, joint ventures, and other investments.

On a call with investors, Chief Operating Officer Beth Clymer said 75% of Canada Goose products are manufactured in Canada, and “virtually all” meet United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) criteria, exempting them from U.S. tariffs. She noted that some European-sourced goods would be subject to increased tariffs, though the financial impact would be “minimal.”

“This is not the first time Canada Goose has successfully navigated uncertainty,” said CEO Dani Reiss. “We’ve endured challenging times before—through 2008, through COVID—and each time we’ve emerged stronger.”

Chief Financial Officer Neil Bowden stated that while tariffs aren’t materially impacting fiscal 2026 planning, broader indirect effects from the global economy could introduce uncertainty as the company approaches its key sales season.

The company is also expanding its product offerings with the launch of an AI-enabled eyewear collection, part of its strategy to grow relevance in warmer seasons and diversify beyond winter apparel.

Details on the earnings report were first published by CNBC.
