Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike reported first-quarter revenue and earnings on Wednesday that surpassed analyst expectations and announced a 4-for-1 stock split. Following the release of its financial results, the company’s stock price declined in after-hours trading.
For its fiscal 2027 first quarter, which ended April 30, CrowdStrike reported revenue of $1.39 billion, a 26% increase year over year. This figure exceeded the consensus estimate of $1.36 billion, according to data from LSEG. The company’s adjusted earnings per share (EPS) rose 51% to $1.10, which was above the $1.07 analyst estimate compiled by LSEG.
In addition to its earnings report, CrowdStrike announced its board of directors approved a 4-for-1 stock split. Trading on a split-adjusted basis is scheduled to begin on July 2.
Company executives also issued updated guidance for the full fiscal year. CrowdStrike projects total revenue to be between $5.91 billion and $5.96 billion, raising its previous forecast. The company also increased its adjusted EPS forecast to a range of $4.88 to $4.96. Both projections are above prior analyst consensus estimates provided by LSEG.
During a call with investors, CEO George Kurtz commented on the role of artificial intelligence in the cybersecurity sector. He stated that AI is driving demand for security solutions as clients work to secure AI models before deployment.
“The biggest thing for me, when I asked what outcome the customer is looking for, it wasn’t a technology outcome per se,” Kurtz said. “It was, we need to solve the security issue because we want to deploy AI faster.”
Kurtz added that the deployment of new AI technologies creates new potential vulnerabilities, which he referred to as “an explosion in greenfield attack surfaces, each of which needs cybersecurity.” He described the market’s view of cybersecurity as shifting from a function of risk management to a “strategic accelerator and a critical enabler of AI adoption.”
CrowdStrike specializes in endpoint protection through its Falcon platform. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
