Dynamos FC defeated Herentals FC 1-0 in a Premier Soccer League match at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, moving the club into third position on the league standings. A goal from midfielder Donald Mudadi in the first half secured the victory, which was the team’s first league win since July.

The decisive moment of the match came in the 36th minute. According to match reports, Mudadi scored following a defensive error by Herentals, giving Dynamos a lead they would maintain for the remainder of the game. The goal was Mudadi’s fifth of the season.

The result ended a four-match winless period for Dynamos FC, which had previously recorded three draws and one loss. The three points from the victory elevated the club’s season total to 32 points. The win was also the first for interim coach Genesis Mangombe since he was appointed to the position in August.

Following the match, Mangombe commented on the outcome in a statement to the media. “It’s a good result for us, the first win after a long time,” Mangombe said. “We needed this win at all costs. We managed to get a goal, but we were supposed to score maybe two or three more goals.”

Herentals FC coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva also spoke to reporters after the game, addressing his team’s performance.

“It’s a very painful result because we did not play very badly to lose the game,” Mutiwekuziva stated. “We just conceded a soft goal through a mistake from our defender.”

The loss left Herentals FC in ninth place on the league table with 25 points. The match was part of the ongoing Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
