Gold Medalist, the agency representing South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, issued an official statement on March 24 denying dating rumors that emerged after actress Kim Sae-ron posted a photograph of the two individuals on her social media account. The agency’s statement described the speculation as “groundless” and provided context for the image.
The situation developed in the early hours of March 24, when Kim Sae-ron uploaded a selfie-style picture featuring herself and Kim Soo-hyun to her Instagram Stories. The image was removed from the platform a short time after it was posted. The post led to discussion online regarding the nature of the actors’ relationship.
In response, Gold Medalist released a formal statement to address the public speculation. “We are informing you of our official position regarding the photos of Kim Soo-hyun that were spread today,” the agency announced. “The current dating rumors are groundless.”
The statement further explained the origin of the photograph, noting, “The photo that is being spread online appears to have been taken in the past, when [Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron] were under the same agency.” Gold Medalist concluded by stating it would take action against what it termed the malicious spread of misinformation and defamatory posts. “We will respond strongly through our legal representative against slander and insulting posts that damage the actor’s character and reputation,” the agency said.
Kim Soo-hyun is currently starring in the television drama “Queen of Tears,” which airs on the South Korean network tvN and is available for international streaming.
Kim Sae-ron was previously signed with Gold Medalist, the same agency that represents Kim Soo-hyun, until her contract ended in December 2022. As of this report, Kim Sae-ron has not issued a public statement regarding the photograph.
