SportsHardrock FC Coach, Striker Honored with September PSL Awards

Hardrock FC’s coach Kelvin Kaindu and striker Washington Navaya were named the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) Coach of the Month and Player of the Month, respectively, for September. The league announced the awards, recognizing the club’s performance during a month in which it remained undefeated.

The accolades follow a successful run of results for the newly promoted club in September. Under Kaindu’s management, Hardrock FC secured seven points from a possible nine in their three league matches. The team recorded a 2-0 victory against Dynamos FC, a 1-1 draw with Highlanders FC, and a 3-1 win over CAPS United.

Navaya was recognized for his direct contributions to the team’s results, scoring three goals across the three fixtures. His performance was a key factor in the club’s offensive success during the month.

The monthly awards highlight a notable run of form for Hardrock FC in its inaugural season in Zimbabwe’s top-flight football league. Following their promotion at the start of the season, the club has maintained a competitive position in the league standings. The September results contributed to their standing among the top teams in the 18-team league.

The Premier Soccer League’s monthly awards are selected by a panel that typically includes sports journalists, coaches, and team captains who vote on the top performers from the preceding month’s matches. The selections for September place both Kaindu and Navaya as the league’s officially recognized top performers in their respective roles for that period.
