An Israeli strike on a tent in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis on Thursday killed at least three Palestinians and wounded three others, according to a statement from the Palestinian Civil Defence in Gaza. The incident occurred as Israeli military operations continue in the region despite a ceasefire agreement that began in October.
The civil defence agency reported via Telegram that its teams recovered three bodies from the family tent. The agency added that one of the three wounded individuals was in critical condition.
In a separate event in the northern Gaza area of Jabalia, an 11-year-old girl was killed by Israeli fire, her uncle told reporters.
These events took place following a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that went into effect on Oct. 10. Since Oct. 11, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has reported that 425 Palestinians have been killed and 1,206 have been wounded in Israeli actions.
The conflict has displaced a significant portion of Gaza’s population, with many residing in temporary tent camps. Humanitarian organizations have raised concerns about living conditions, which have been affected by recent heavy rainfall and flooding.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported this week that its medical teams are treating an increase in respiratory infections, skin diseases, and wound complications, which the organization links to the living conditions in the camps. The group also noted that Israel continues to block or delay the entry of supplies such as tents and tarps.
In a related development, Israeli authorities have revoked the operating licenses of 37 aid organizations. The government cited the groups’ failure to comply with new regulations that require detailed information on staff members, funding, and operations.
On Thursday, the Reuters news agency reported that Israel had denied entry to international staff from MSF, Medecins du Monde Suisse, and the Danish Refugee Council. The organizations affected have stated that the measures will compel them to halt essential services, including healthcare, within the Gaza Strip.
