A logistics center for the major Russian e-commerce company Wildberries was targeted in a drone attack on Tuesday in the Tambov region, according to statements from Russian officials. The incident is one of several reported attacks on Russian economic and logistical infrastructure.
Maxim Yegorov, the governor of the Tambov region, located southeast of Moscow, reported the event in a statement on his Telegram channel. He said a drone had crashed and exploded on the grounds of a facility in the Pervomaisky district. Yegorov stated that there were no casualties and that emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence later announced that its air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed multiple Ukrainian drones over several regions, including Tambov. The ministry did not provide specific details linking the intercepted drones directly to the Wildberries facility.
Ukrainian military or government officials have not issued a public comment on the incident. Kyiv has maintained a consistent policy of not formally confirming or denying responsibility for military operations conducted inside Russian territory.
Wildberries, one of Russia’s largest online retailers, confirmed that an incident occurred near its warehouse. In a statement released to Russian news agencies, the company reported that there were no injuries among its employees and no critical damage to its infrastructure. The company added that the logistics center was operating normally.
The attack on the Tambov facility follows other reported drone strikes on infrastructure within Russia. In recent months, oil refineries, manufacturing plants, and other commercial sites have been the subject of similar attacks. This event marks a continued focus on targets with economic and logistical significance.
