Zimbabwe Cricket announced its national squads for a multi-format tour of the United Arab Emirates, scheduled to run from October 17 to November 17. All-rounder Sikandar Raza has been named captain for the series, which will include matches against both Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
The tour is structured in two distinct parts. It will commence with a One-Day International (ODI) tri-series featuring Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Following the conclusion of the tri-series, Zimbabwe will remain in the UAE to compete in a bilateral series against Afghanistan. This portion of the tour will include an unspecified number of Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and Test matches.
In a statement released by the national governing body, Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed the player selections for the limited-overs formats. The full squads for the Test matches against Afghanistan have not yet been detailed.
The month-long series of fixtures marks a significant period of international cricket for the Zimbabwean team. The schedule requires the squad to compete across all three primary formats of the sport recognized by the International Cricket Council.
Further details regarding the specific match dates, venues within the UAE, and the composition of the Test squad are expected to be released by Zimbabwe Cricket at a later time.
