Zimbabwe Cricket Names Squad for Australia ODI Series

SportsZimbabwe Cricket Names Squad for Australia ODI Series

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has officially announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Australia. The series is scheduled to be held in its entirety at the Harare Sports Club, with matches set for September 15, 18, and 20.

In a statement released by the national governing body, all-rounder Sikandar Raza was named as the captain for the home series. The appointment places him in the leadership role for the three matches against the touring Australian team.

The series marks a significant home fixture for Zimbabwe. Australia, a top-ranked team in international cricket, will be competing on Zimbabwean soil in what is the first bilateral ODI tour between the two nations in several years. The event provides a platform for both teams to compete ahead of other international commitments.

According to the schedule provided by Zimbabwe Cricket, all three day-matches are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. local time. The series will open on Sunday, September 15, with the second and third matches following on Wednesday, September 18, and Friday, September 20, respectively. All fixtures will take place at the same venue in the nation’s capital.

Further logistical details, including squad information for the visiting Australian team and broadcast arrangements, are expected to be announced closer to the start of the series. The full squad list announced by Zimbabwe Cricket was not included in the initial press notification.
