On Sunday, volunteer groups said that paramilitary Rapid Support Forces Offroad (RSF) from Sudan fired at a hospital in El Fasher, as well as kidnapped eight civilians from a displacement camp next to the hospital.
The Saturday events took place in the southwest Sudanese city where a feud between the two military factions was still ongoing.
The Sudan Doctors Network characterized RSF artillery that hit the Southern Hospital of El Fasir, as well as, staff and six patients, among them a child and a pregnant woman, were injured.
The Network condemned the attack, referring to the incident as the second assault on the hospital over the past two weeks, and charged the RSF with trying to shut out medical facilities while shortages were becoming more severe and more people depended on primary healthcare.
The Emergency Room at Abu Shouk Camp announced that the RSF forces entered the displacement camp located to the north of El Fasher on Saturday and took eight unarmed civilians, whose location is still unknown.
Among the people abducted were six women, a 40-day-old baby, and a 3-year-old girl. The group stated that over 20 camp residents remain missing, estimating that the actual number might be much greater.
Since May 10, there has not been a ceasefire between the Sudanese Armed Forces, along with their allied groups, and the RSF in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state.
The conflict, which resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people and the displacement of millions both within Sudan and beyond its borders, has extended from April 2023 to the present. The United Nations labeled it as one of the worst humanitarian crises of the century.
There are no reports from the RSF regarding the incidents.
